Terms of use
Last updated: October 17, 2026 · Draft — to be reviewed before the first public release
1. The software
Shellhog (the “Software”) is published by [publisher name] (“we”). By downloading, installing or using the Software you accept these terms.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on Macs you own or control, free of charge. You may not resell, rent or redistribute the Software, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows it. Open-source components included in the Software are licensed under their own terms, listed in the open-source notices; nothing here limits your rights under those licenses.
3. What Shellhog does — and doesn't
Shellhog lets programs work on a copy of a folder and lets you accept or unwind their changes. It reduces risk; it does not remove it. It is not a backup: keep your own backups (Time Machine or other). Programs you run in Shellhog, including AI assistants, remain under their own terms and your responsibility, and may still use the network unless you run them with hog --offline.
4. No warranty
The Software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country that cannot be waived.
5. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or for loss of data, profits or business arising from the use of the Software. This does not apply to damages caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or where the law forbids such a limitation.
6. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. These terms are governed by French law. Competent courts / consumer mediation to be confirmed
